Is what acid reflux?
It is the fluid in the stomach monkeys in the oesophagus (gullet). Many of this liquid is acid in the stomach, which is harmful for the walls of the esophagus. Reflux happens for most people, but since we maintain spend many of our time have, gravity causes the liquid returns for the stomach unnoticed. In addition, we often eat that again, how regurgitated fluid in the stomach and saliva contains bicarbonate which helps to neutralize the acid results in the liquid of the stomach.
It does not to the repeated cases of painful indigestion, ignore as it could be symptomatic of something much more serious. Permanent refluxing acid damage the lining of the esophagus,, can cause unhandled that other conditions.
A friend told that if she was a child, her father always on Rennies, a well-known antacid in the United Kingdom was chew. He used to say that a good burp would heal the digestive disorders. It was later, he had a stomach ulcer. But when my friend, in turn, frequent digestive disorders, suffering they also on the Rennies chewed and went about their business.
Finally, they realized that the extent of the normal digestive disorders so that they could be not your doctor consult referred to a specialist for an endoscopy.
An endoscopy is a procedure with an endoscope, a thin, lighted tube is inserted into the throat. The endoscope sends pictures of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, gives the specialist in problem areas to identify and, if necessary, biopsies. The endoscope is usually included, while the patient under sedation the mouth totmachen reflex, is so it is.
A hiatal hernia was diagnosed again my friend. A hiatal hernia occurs when the upper part of the stomach through the opening in the diaphragm where pushes the esophagus, stomach, that connects the stomach acid to reflux. Fortunately, this was a small hiatus hernia, which can easily be treated with a course of medication.
A few years went by with only small instances of indigestion, then my friend began to experience occasional bouts of very severe stomach acid and disease, which she treats the usual range of antacid preparations. Suddenly, one day she woke up with a severe pain in her lower stomach not to respond and not resemble normal symptoms of acid reflux in each case the usual remedies.
A visit to the doctor and my friend was hospital for tests that showed that the original small hiatus hernia and bleeding was larger and had to (inflammation of the lining of the stomach) gastritis and duodenitis (inflammation of the duodenum), caused both by infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. This bacteria is extremely rare, given that 70% of the world's population can infect, although most people do not have any symptoms of infection appear.
The moral of this story is "not persistent acid reflux, much more, that ignore only indigestion".
Watch out for my next article on the treatment of acid reflux.
